Try making sense
Ok it’s been some time since my last blog but there is now a fresh incentive for me to get back into this stuff. I have stepped away from the Think Feel Know business (all very amicable!) to allow me to focus exclusively on the areas I am most passionate about, as explained throughout the rest of this website.
So my new business is called Make Sense Ltd. For me this resonates as it’s what I believe most of us are trying to do with our lives. We get stuck when we can’t make sense of what is going on around us and inside us, so for me making sense sits at the core on any personal or organisational development.
My earlier blogs were centred more around my book, but the book is just one piece of the much bigger journey that I would like to continue to share here. In fact, I have learned a personal lesson through the small number of blogs I have written: that I need feedback! Not specific feedback around what I have written, but just to know that somebody is reading! When I wrote my book I was very focused and found that the actual writing came reasonably easily: but I found the isolation that goes with it tough. I guess the analogy is screaming in space – what’s the point if nobody is listening?
So, for now, energetically I find the interaction of coaching and facilitation much more rewarding than writing. I need people to engage with so I can see and feel for myself what impact we are having on each other. Maybe that will change in the future?
So my blogs will continue to reflect on “your lives and your business” (see what I did there?). I will share insights that I hope will offer the opportunity to enrich our experience of life.
And, of course, as I have spent most of my life working in leadership positions i business, and considering this is where I still spend most of my coaching time, I will draw on that experience to offer some insights which are immediately relevant to my business colleagues and clients.
Ultimately, though, it is about sharing life. We’ll see where this goes. If I get some simple feedback (a simple “just read it” will do) I will feel sufficiently motivated to keep this going. Otherwise, back to the earlier analogy, my efforts may simply float out into outer space with no apparent impact on the world we live in……………….
Just scared myself now, so only you can save me! If this takes off I would be very happy to field questions, eg about the practical application of neuroscience, and building this into future blogs. I am very committed to trying to bring alive this potentially hugely enriching subject for anyone who is interested. I am not a neuroscientist myself but I am a disciple!
